Taking over Shibata Model which had closed down after more than 70 years in business, Hobby Plaza Kotobuki Model-R opened as a comprehensive hobby shop in October 2021. Its acrylic showcases, the largest in size in the Tohoku area, are notable. Inheriting the display shelves and showcases from its predecessor Shibata Model, this toy shop is equipped with painting experience booths in which visitors can enjoy painting on plastic models.
